Daniel Ricciardo has got to be feeling pretty good after the last couple weekends in Austria ! Obviously his performance in the Renault hasn’t been that incredible . But , knowing he will be on his way to McLaren next season must be some vindication . Not only does McLaren look like they may finally be pulling out of their slump , but Ricciardo’s future teammate Lando Norris has been absolutely dom . . .

What can we say but “Wow ! ” If we’re being honest , it definitely didn’t look like Ferrari would be on the podium after qualifying . If you’ve been following the comments , there was plenty of speculation that Ferrari would improve as the season went on , probably around Hungary . It seemed a little more like hope than anything else . But today showed just what a driver can do with skill and pa . . .

Carlos is probably feeling some pretty big regrets right about now ! Needless to say , that’s why some people were confused that Silly Season started during the break . To be fair to Carlos’ decision , it’s unlikely that Ferrari will continue to struggle as much as they have over the last couple weekends , especially all the way into next year . After putting in his most impressive qualifying pe . . .

Before the weekend has even begun , all signs are pointing to a prosperous British Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton . Apart from the fact that @lewishamilton and the Merc are almost always at the front of the grid anyway , Lewis has taken 4 out of 5 pole positions and race wins within the last five years at the British track . Mercedes has been so dominant at Silverstone in the hybrid era that only Seb w . . .

The news just keeps getting worse and worse for Scuderia Ferrari . . . After their tech team shake up last week , Ferrari chairman , John Elkann , has admitted that it may take all the way until 2022 for the team to be competitive again . With little chance of substantive development after their slip into the midfield this year , Ferrari will be focusing on how to best fight back when the new regulations . . .

Sergio Perez has had an inconclusive COVID test comeback ahead of the British GP this weekend ! As such , he is not at the circuit today . He will be retested and have to await results before being able to come into the paddock . This could be bad news for Racing Point who was looking good with their Mercedes adjacent package heading to Silverstone . However , it could be good news for Lance who might h . . .

#F1Discussion: What are your thoughts on the F1 Concorde Agreement? Many of the major names in F1 have begun signing the new Concorde Agreement . Ferrari , McLaren and Williams all have put pen to paper affirming their commercial commitment to F1 until 2025 . The question remains though , will any teams not sign? Red Bull has a contract with Max through to 2023 so it’s unlikely that they or Alpha T . . .

When will Seb’s Ferrari nightmare end? Mattia Binotto has claimed that they didn’t sacrifice Vettel to secure a better finish for LeClerc over this last weekend . Even with the first lap spin , Vettel should have been able to end up in the points if LeClerc can get 4th . Everyone heard Seb call them out over the team radio . Ferrari is not listening to Vettel’s suggestions and requests for race . . .

What a time out of Daniel Ricciardo in FP2 on Friday ! It was truly unfortunate that he had to retire the car before the end of the session . Could a bit of rain over the next few days make for a return to the podium on Sunday for Ricciardo? I suppose we have to see what happens over the course of FP3 and Quali in a few hours ! Whichever midfield driver can find some consistency through the sessions . . .

Albon scores his first Formula 1 podium at the Tuscan GP ! It’s not quite a win like Pierre obviously but this is the performance that Red Bull needs out Albon , especially after an early race Max incident . This means that Albon is the first Red Bull driver to stand on the podium since Ricciardo at Monaco in 2018 . Sadly however , this also means that there will be no tattoo for Cyril this weekend . . . .
